Shopify App Permissions

Last updated: July 26, 2024

At Replo, we prioritize transparency and security. To deliver our complete suite of page and theme building capabilities for Shopify, we require certain permissions from your Shopify store.

You can see these in your Shopify Admin under Settings > Apps and sales channels > Replo Landing Page Designer > Permission details

Here’s a detailed breakdown of the permissions we request and the reasons behind them:

1. Edit Products

"Products, product listings, collections"

Why we need this: To gain access to your store's product catalog and product configurations. This allows us to pull in your product data dynamically into your content, making the building experience easier and eliminating the need for hardcoded product information.

2. Edit Shopify Admin

"Files"

Why we need this: To upload and manage media files, such as images and videos, used in your store’s design. This ensures seamless integration and visually appealing content.

3. Edit Your Online Store

"Pages on your Online Store, theme, script tags in your Online Store

Why we need this: This is the most important permission we ask for. We use this to create and customize store pages at the code level.

By granting these permissions, you enable Replo to fully optimize your Shopify store, offering a powerful and flexible solution for building and managing your online presence. Rest assured, all permissions are used solely to enhance your store’s capabilities and performance.

NEAR FUTURE PERMISSIONS

Soon we'll be asking for two more important permissions. These are:

4. View and edit store data

"View customers browsing behavior & Edit store analytics Pixels"

Why we'll soon need this: We're adding in analytics to our platform and this will allows us to understand your customers browsing behavior so we can make informed decisions on how to optimize their buying experience and generate more sales for your store.

5. View personal data about Customers

"View name, email address, phone number, physical address, IP address, browser and operating system, browsing behavior, client ID cookie"

Why we'll soon need this: As part of the analytics platform, this permission allows us to see purchases and therefore better understand conversion trends. If Shopify allowed us to only see conversion data, we would go with that permission setting, but this is as granular as they allow us to get.
