How does Replo honor your customer’s privacy settings?

Last updated: November 19, 2024

At Replo, we prioritize respecting your end users’ privacy preferences. If you configure your Shopify store’s privacy settings correctly, our system will fully honor them. Here's how it works:

Tracking Consent and Permissions

Replo integrates with Shopify’s Customer Privacy settings to ensure compliance with user privacy preferences. Shopify determines whether tracking is allowed for analytics, marketing, and personalization, and Replo respects those settings.

By default:

  • Our web pixel uses the analytics flag to collect data and automatically stops tracking if users opt out.

  • Other flags, such as marketing, personalization, and data sales, are disabled by default unless users explicitly opt in.

Ensuring Privacy Compliance

Replo’s web pixel aligns with the privacy preferences that your customers set, ensuring no data is collected if they opt out. Here’s how the default behavior works:

  • No Consent Provided: If users do not provide consent, Replo’s pixel does not track user actions.

  • Strict Privcay Standards: If stricter privacy compliance is needed, you can configure Shopify’s settings to disable all tracking flags until users explicitly opt in.

Local Privacy Compliance

To comply with local laws such as GDPR or CCPA:

  • Use Shopify’s built-in cookie banner to allow users to set their preferences. You can enable this directly from your Shopify admin settings (see Shopify Cookie Banner Documentation).

  • Shopify automatically applies region-specific privacy rules, so you can ensure compliance without additional setup.
