Migrating from Shopify Product Reviews

If you previously used the Shopify Product Reviews app, follow these steps:

Step 1: Export Your Existing Reviews

Note: If you didn't export before May 6, 2024, your reviews from the Shopify app may be lost.

Step 2: Choose a New Review App

Install one of the recommended apps above from the Shopify App Store. Most offer free plans or trials.

Step 3: Import Reviews (if exported)

Most review apps support importing reviews via CSV. Check your chosen app's documentation for import instructions.

Step 4: Update Your Replo Pages

  1. Remove any existing Shopify Product Reviews widgets from your pages
  2. Add the new review app's widget (search for the app name in Components)
  3. Place the widget inside a Product component for product-specific reviews
  4. Republish your pages

Why Did Shopify Discontinue the App?

Shopify sunset their native Product Reviews app to focus on core e-commerce functionality. Third-party review apps often provide more features including:

  • Photo and video reviews
  • Review request emails
  • SEO-rich snippets
  • Review moderation tools
  • Import reviews from AliExpress, Amazon, etc.
  • Loyalty and rewards programs
