Analytics - Frequently Asked Questions
Last updated: May 3, 2025
Welcome to the Replo Analytics FAQ! Below, you'll find everything you need to know about getting started with Analytics, understanding the data we track, and making the most of the insights to grow your business.
Why do I see different numbers between Replo and Shopify analytics for domains/subdomains?
Shopify automatically aggregates analytics data across all domains and subdomains (e.g., combining data from example.com, uk.example.com, us.example.com). By default, Replo shows results for the root domain only. This can lead to Shopify showing higher numbers than Replo when multiple domains/subdomains are in use.
To match Shopify's numbers more closely, you can use Replo's Analytics Dashboard to select which domain/subdomain you want to see results for. You can view individual domain/subdomain data separately and manually combine data from multiple domains if needed.
Is Analytics free? Will this change in the future?
Analytics is available to all paying customers. In the future, Replo may offer additional advanced analytics features for higher subscription tiers, but there will always be a version of Analytics included for all Replo plans.
What are the definitions of the key metrics?
The definitions for all key metrics used in Replo Analytics, such as Conversion Rate (CVR), Average Order Value (AOV), and others, can be found here. These metrics are based on industry standards and align with the best practices set by tools like Google Analytics and Shopify.
How soon does Analytics data appear?
Data appears almost instantly, typically within 1 minute of an event happening. This means you can see the performance of your pages in near real-time.
What happens to Analytics if I uninstall Replo?
If you uninstall Replo, the Replo Pixel is automatically removed from your site, and we stop collecting data. This means you'll no longer see Analytics data for your pages.
If you re-install your Shopify Store into another Replo Workspace, you will see data from before you disconnected, but not data during the time Replo was uninstalled.
Do I need to give separate permissions for Analytics?
Yes, when you install Replo, we will automatically ask for the correct permissions to start collecting data from your site.
Replo does not access or track any of this customer data even though Shopify could, in theory, provide it. See What exact information does Replo track? for more information on what is tracked in Replo.
What exact information does Replo track?
Currently, Replo tracks the following anonymized customer information. This list does not contain any personally identifiable information (PII):
Page title
Anonymized purchase data - product prices, variant identifiers, cart data, total cost, etc
Referrer
Session ID
Timestamp
URL
User agent string
When installing Replo through the Shopify App Store, Replo requests the necessary permissions to track the above information. Shopify may display permissions about the ability to collect other data, but Replo doesn't collect anything other than the data in the above list. See What Shopify Permissions Does Replo Request? for more information.
How is Analytics data securely stored?
We take security seriously and follow best practices for encrypting Analytics data. All data in transit is protected with SSL (SHA 256 or TLS 1.2 or higher), and data at rest is encrypted using AES 256 encryption. This ensures that any information collected remains safe and secure.
Can I opt out of Analytics after opting in?
Once you opt into Analytics, there isn't a built-in way to opt out aside from uninstalling Replo entirely. We will build this feature if it becomes a common ask.
What timezone is used to display Analytics data?
By default, Replo set's UTC timezone, but this can easily be updated in the Workspace settings. Once you update your workspaces timezone, all data in Analytics will be displayed in that timezone.
What currency is used to display Analytics data?
By default, Replo set's USD ($) as the currency, but this can easily be updated in the Workspace settings. Once you update your workspace's currency, all data in Analytics will be displayed in that currency.
How does Replo set up the Pixel and collect data?
Replo uses Shopify's cookie consent banners to handle regional opt-ins and opt-outs for data collection. This means that the Pixel follows your store's privacy settings as configured in Settings > Customer Privacy. The data collected respects these privacy configurations, allowing you to control where and under what conditions data is gathered.
How is revenue attributed to different pages?
Replo Analytics offers two main ways to attribute revenue to pages:
- Entry Pages: When a conversion happens, it's attributed to the first page that a visitor views within that session.
- All Session Pages: When a conversion happens, the revenue is attributed to all pages that were visited during the session.
You can toggle between these two views in the top right corner of the Analytics page to explore different attribution models.
Can I filter to see just Replo pages?
Currently, there isn't an option to filter specifically for Replo pages, but this is a feature we're working on for a future update.
How are UTM parameters set?
UTM parameters are set by you in your advertising tools (e.g., Meta, Google Ads). These parameters help track where visitors originated before landing on your site, which we use to provide better insights in Replo Analytics.
Can I tag or group pages?
Currently, there are no options to add additional tags or groups to pages. However, this is something we have on our roadmap.
Can I create my own formulas for custom columns?
Not at this time. For the initial launch, our goal is to keep Analytics easy to set up, with straightforward, out-of-the-box metrics. If you need more flexibility, we'd love for you to log a request on our feedback board so we can prioritize future updates.
Can I create saved views?
Replo doesn't currently have built-in saved views, but filter parameters are stored in the URL, so you can bookmark specific views or share those URLs with your teammates. Although these filter parameters are not readable or editable, they will allow you to revisit the same filtered data.
Can I view graphs for multiple pages at once?
Right now, it's not possible to view data for multiple pages simultaneously. This feature is in our backlog, and we hope to add it soon.
Are there pages Analytics can't track?
Replo Analytics only works where the Replo Pixel is fired, which is any theme page. This includes pages, blogs and blog posts, product pages, collection pages, etc. This means that Replo will likely NOT be able to track pages not loaded via the theme like custom content loaded by other apps. For example, /apps/<app_name>/storefront is likely controlled by the App in question and won't fire the Replo Pixel.
