Why are my A/B test experiments not tracking data for non-Replo pages?

Last updated: January 29, 2025

When setting up A/B test experiments in Replo, it's important to understand that our analytics and experiment tracking capabilities are limited to specific types of Shopify pages. This article explains why you might see discrepancies in data tracking for certain pages and how to ensure your experiments are set up correctly.

Where Replo analytics work

Replo's analytics and experiment tracking currently function on the following Shopify page types:

  • Pages

  • Blog posts

  • Product data pages (PDPs)

  • Collection Pages

These pages typically have URLs that follow patterns like /pages/..., /blogs/..., or /products/....

Limitations with custom app pages

Replo analytics do not currently load on custom pages served by Shopify apps. This includes pages with URLs like:

https://store.myshopify.com.com/apps/appname/custompage

In these cases, while Replo may correctly redirect traffic between variations, it cannot track analytics data for these pages.

What to do if your experiment involves custom app pages

If your A/B test experiment involves pages served by custom Shopify apps:

  1. Be aware that analytics data may not be accurately tracked for these pages.

  2. Consider using alternative analytics tools that can track these custom pages.

  3. If possible, restructure your experiment to use standard Shopify page types that Replo can track.
