A/B Testing Custom Domains

Last updated: August 25, 2025

This article is about setting up custom domains for 📄 A/B Testing with Replo links. For info about how to use custom domains on your Shopify store, see 📄 Subdomains.

Every test in 📄 A/B Testing with Replo starts with a link. This is the link you use to drive traffic to your A/B tests - usually, this link lives in your ads manager, social links, or elsewhere on your website.

By default, any customer can use the reploedge.com domain to run experiments. Since the redirect is effectively instant, customers will almost never see that reploedge.com domain. However, Replo customers who prefer a branded experience can use their own custom domain for A/B testing links.

To use a custom domain instead of reploedge.com, follow these steps:

  1. Add a connection in your domain provider:

Log in to your domain provider and add a CNAME record. Use your custom address (for example, go.my-store.com) as the host, and set the value to reploedge.com. This allows visitors to access your site or pages using your personalized address.

  2. If you're unsure how to set up a custom domain, refer to the following guides for detailed instructions for specific providers:

  3. Confirm your domain is connected:
Go to your A/B testing settings in Replo, then select "Custom Domains" and add a custom domain. It may take a few minutes for your domain provider to confirm the CNAME record update, so please wait a few moments before checking. Once confirmed, your custom domain will be active in Replo and your links in 📄 A/B Testing with Replo will show your custom domain.

Troubleshooting

DNS Record Mismatch after Connecting

If you connect a custom domain to Replo, then remove or update the CNAME record you created using your DNS provider to something other than reploedge.com, your custom domain might become disconnected. Please reach out to support@replo.app and we can help you resolve this issue.
